This movie is so much fun...lots of laughs and some poignant moments, too. The cinematography is fantastic! They went to Iceland and Afghanistan and filmed such gorgeous places...but did it ways that were so impressive. I plan to watch this movie again on DVD just so that I can stop and really admire the scenery. Lots of interesting and fun things going on visually all through the film. Even the opening credits were innovative. The story is precious and everyone in it was just right for the part. Ben Stiller has outdone himself this time.

I wanted to love this movie. The premise, the idea is brilliant. The cinematography is amazing. Even Stiller's acting is on par with some of his best. But that's it. I remember when companies used to sneak in product placement - a coke can here, a Fedex truck there - but now it is a no holds barred, in your face commercial. eHarmony, Jansport, Papa John's, CareerBuilder - they are all deeply embedded into the story line. In the case of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty it cheapens the experience. I felt dirty, like I just paid for something that wasn't as pure as I'd hoped. The impact to the script is so blatant - at one point Oswalt asks "How is your Cinnabon?" to which Stiller responds "Oh it's great!" as the men sip logo-facing cups. I almost felt like it was a big joke. The good news? If the studio didn't whore out it's script and story - and kept the placement to a minimum - this would be a pretty good movie. But the commercials are here to stay my friends.

The movie was first rate from the first scene on. Ben Stiller was perfectly cast, and the transitions from "reality" into "fantasy" were done flawlessly. There is really nothing negative that I can say about this show. Keep 'em coming!

This was a very inspiring movie about getting out there and experiencing life and living it to the fullest. Good for the whole family, must see.

The cinematography was beautiful. But the story bored me to tears. The last 30-40 minutes were better than the first 70, but it was agonizing to watch the story unfold. I really wanted it to be much better than it was. Sorry.
